Centered around Pride Square on East Missouri and North Stanton, the scene serves queers across far West Texas and neighboring Ciudad Juárez, creating one of the most distinctive queer cultures in the state. El Paso occupies a unique place in Texas queer life. As the westernmost major Texas city, separated from the rest of the state by hundreds of miles of Chihuahuan Desert, El Paso's LGBTQ+ community has developed its own culture — heavily Chicano, bilingual, and binational, with strong ties to Ciudad Juárez across the Rio Grande.

El Paso Pride has grown year over year, reflecting a community that is proudly out, proudly Texan, and proudly fronterizo.
