Operation BRAVE is a local initiative working to end the HIV epidemic in San Antonio. Started in 2020 through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative, it connects people living with HIV in Bexar County who are newly diagnosed, out of care or not yet virally suppressed to medical care, treatment and support services, including housing assistance, mental health support, nurse care coordination and a peer program.
Operation BRAVE works with partner agencies including the Alamo Area Resource Center, BEAT AIDS and the San Antonio AIDS Foundation, and it hosts community events such as its yearly A Day to Be Brave.

Operation BRAVE es una iniciativa local que trabaja para acabar con la epidemia del VIH en San Antonio. Surgió en 2020 a través de la iniciativa Ending the HIV Epidemic del Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos de EE. UU., y conecta a personas que viven con VIH en el condado de Bexar, que recibieron un diagnóstico reciente, que no están en tratamiento o que aún no logran la supresión viral, con atención médica, tratamiento y servicios de apoyo, como ayuda con vivienda, salud mental, coordinación de enfermería y un programa de pares.
Operation BRAVE trabaja con organizaciones aliadas como Alamo Area Resource Center, BEAT AIDS y el San Antonio AIDS Foundation, y organiza eventos comunitarios como su A Day to Be Brave anual.
